Whether you are serious about supporting local producers, reducing your food miles, or just appreciate tasting good food and drink then the Mid Wales Food Festival is the place for you and your family. The Festival is set in the divine setting of Glansevern Hall Gardens, Berriew, Powys and has established itself as the largest food and drink festival in Mid Wales and the borders. The two day event takes place on Saturday and Sunday (4th and 5th September).

One of the earliest signs of spring – but undoubtedly one of the least noticed – is the emergence of bats from their winter hibernation. These are probably our least known and most poorly understood mammals. Most people are barely aware of their existence, yet with 16 British species they are our commonest mammal family.
In the depths of winter, when days last barely eight hours, spring seems a very long way away. The bare branches and lack of birdsong only compounds the sense of an unwelcoming landscape, but in fact there is plenty to celebrate.
The fungi season starts in March with the emergence of morels on waste ground – surely one of our most delicious species?
Organic Wales are proud to feature this recipe from our friend and new Organic Wales article writer Marge!
